Laugh all You want

Introduction

This is one of my submissions for poetry week by English Literary Society, IIT Kanpur. This is my try in poetry, especially writing one down on spot. Hope You enjoy (and not be on my haunt list :) )!!

Prompt

You’re dead. But unfinished business keeps your spirit hanging around. After all, who else will drive that one person absolutely mad now that you're gone?
Write a poem about haunting their life—subtly, dramatically, or hilariously. Just make sure they don’t join you too soon.

Laugh All you want
                                - By Sir Arthur

I died. It's true. I saw the light.
I floated up, and took a right.

For just beyond the Great Gate,

I heard you laugh- and sealed your fate.

You took my snacks. You took my girl.

Lost my family heirloom pearl.

You left me on my own,

When I was out there all alone.

Now I remain, a spiteful breeze,

Floating around, whispering secrets to the trees.

Your emails send, but never arrive,

Your socks go missing- in groups of five.

I tap your walls at 4:02,

Haunting is dreams such a delight too,

Your plants droop while I glide past,

I just want to see you in shackles real fast.

I switch your Zoom to portrait mode,

Erase your texts, rewrite in code.

You’ll wonder if you are losing grip,

A haunted mind’s a thrilling trip.

But no, I won’t drag you below,

This isn’t hell, this is my own show.

A haunting fuelled by petty fire,

And you are my one true desire.

So live. Go on. And try to cope.

I’ve got eternity and hope

To drive you bonkers—just ask why.

You’ll hear me giggle when you cry.
